Under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of PSAU and in the presence of Vices-Rector, Deans and representatives of the private sectors, College of Engineering held a workshop for exploring summer training chances for its students. The workshop aims to build a sustainable partnership with the privet sector companies specialized in the engineering field through qualifying and training the students in the summer training program.
Dr. Mohammad Al Kahtani Dean of Engineering College delivered a speech welcoming Rector and the attendances. He expressed his thanks for Rector for his support to the college and it students that led to many achievements, especially the American Academic Accreditation ABET. Dr. Al Kahtani added this workshop aims to also to create cooperation bridges with the engineering sectors that led to the participation 15 entities and the presence of 36 representative of these entities. The attendances stressed on the importance of cooperation in order to qualify the future engineer and the importance providing true training chances to the students to polish their skills.
Moreover, Dr. Al Kahtani pointed out that the college’s strategic plan aims to create sustainable strategic partnership with the privet sector in the engineering field. Therefore, it prepared a cooperation agreement that was adopted by Rector and the work is going on conducted it with many privet sectors. The prominent agreement of these agreements will be signed with Almarai Co., which is one on the biggest and active national companies.
Furthermore, Rector delivered a speech welcoming the attendees. He stressed on the importance of active partnership between the university and the privet sector. He added that such programs provide the students with required skills in his practical life. Then, he signed a training partnership agreement with Almarai Co. represented by Mr. Thabit Al Kahtani Director of Localizing at Almarai Co. Mr. Thabit expressed his delight regarding this agreement that insures a god training to the students in a leader national company.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Khudairi Vice-Rector Educational and Academic Affairs assured that this program is supervised by the Vice-Rectorate. He added that the Vice-Rectorate supervised also on the establishment and activation of the summer training e-portal in cooperation with the Engineering College and Deanship of IT and Distance Learning.
It is worth mentioning, the workshop activates included work sessions in the summer training field, whereas the sessions were launched by a speech delivered by Dr. Fraih Anzi Head of the Summer Training Committee. He welcomed the attendances and extended his appreciation to Rector for his continuous support. In addition, he thanked the privet sector members, who are the success partners. Then, the firs discussion sessions was began. It aimed to review the skills required engineering students from the summer training program. At the second session, the Nation Water Co., Almarai Co. and the Technical Committee of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the Holy Mosques Extension delivered their experience in training and qualifying the students through the summer training programs.
At the end of the workshop, Rector honored the university’s partners in the summer training program. He handed the commemorative shields to the success partners.
