Regulations for Specializing Third-Level Students
College of Engineering – Al-Kharj
All third-level students are assigned to the academic departments according to the number of seats available in each specialization, aiming to distribute students as evenly as possible across the College’s departments, based on the following regulations:
The student must have successfully completed all preparatory year courses (Engineering Tracks).
The student must have successfully completed at least 12 credit hours from the third level.
If the student withdraws from any third-level course, is denied entry, or fails to register for it, the student will lose the priority mentioned in Item (4) and will be assigned based on available seats after completing the allocation of all students who meet conditions (1) and (2).
Allocation among students to the College’s various departments shall be based on the following criteria:
Student’s preference.
Cumulative GPA.
Number of available seats in each specialization.
If more than one student competes for the last available seat in a department and they have the same cumulative GPA, priority is given to the student who attended the academic departments’ orientation session, which is held each semester.
