The Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering in Al-Kharj held a training course for its students titled "Analysis of Structural Members using FE Software" on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The course was presented by Dr. Abdul Latif Salmi and Dr. Mohamed Al-Bahar, with the participation of a number of students from various levels of the Civil Engineering Department.
The event aimed to familiarize students with the process of structural analysis of different structural elements using the finite element method. This course contributes to improving students' efficiency and developing their practical skills for course projects and graduation projects. It also prepares them for the job market in various sectors and consulting offices.
The students actively applied the software to solve a selected group of beams, columns, trusses, and both determinate and indeterminate structural frames subjected to various types of loads. They also began using the software in their structural analysis and concrete design course projects.
