Established in 2017 (1438H) as an Industrial Engineering program, under the umbrella of Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University. It was one of the prominent program in the country to leverage the analytical education of engineers in educating the Industrial Engineering students. The program subsequently evolved as a full-fledged department in 2021. Under the guidance of this University, known for its vibrant academic culture. The IE department is now progressing towards one of the well regarded departments of Industrial engineering in Saudi Arabia.
The department currently has 6 faculty members with PhDs from reputed universities, having interests in diverse fields such as mathematical modeling, operations and supply-chain management, quality Engineering, manufacturing systems, CAD/CAM, computer integrated manufacturing, human factors engineering, industrial system simulation, work analysis and design, industrial facility design, industrial operation management, design and analysis of experiments etc. In keeping with the overall academic philosophy of this University, teaching and research are pursued with passion and dedication. Faculty members are also engaged in a diverse set of activities including research and academic development programs.
The department currently offers bachelor program in industrial engineering which is widely regarded as one of the best program in industrial engineering in Saudi Arabia.
