The Department of Electrical Engineering organized its first Professional Forum, which aims to enhance communication between students and alumni on one hand, and industrial and technical organizations on the other.
This forum provides participants with the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field of engineering and explore available career opportunities, thereby supporting their professional growth and broadening their future horizons.
Dr. Malik Al-Duhaimi, from the Department of Electrical Engineering, received the Gulf Engineers Union Award for Engineering Excellence and Innovation during the 26th Gulf Engineering Forum.
Students of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, won first place in the "IET GCC Robotics Challenge 2024".
Students of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in Al-Kharj, achieved a remarkable accomplishment at the Gulf level by winning first place in the IET GCC Robotics Challenge 2024. The competition was organized by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and featured 15 teams from various universities across the Gulf countries.
The winning project involved the development of an intelligent prosthetic hand designed to help amputees regain the ability to grasp objects. The hand utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze images, identify object shapes, and automatically adjust finger movements. The project stood out for its technical innovation and practical application of electrical engineering and AI concepts.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering received the Award for the Best Academic Department at the university level for the year 2024.
Prince Sattam University presented innovative solutions in the fields of energy efficiency and engineering design by developing an eco-friendly vehicle, during its participation in the Shell Eco-Marathon at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar, alongside several universities from Asia and the Middle East.
The university team, consisting of 14 students, successfully completed over 100 tests in the first trial under the supervision of Prof. Fahmi Al-Najjar. This achievement reflects the university’s commitment to supporting innovation and sustainability while strengthening its international presence.
Students Omar Al-Dosari and Bandar Al-Qahiz from the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, participated in the 12th Gulf Sustainable Municipal Work Conference (2024) held in Riyadh. The students presented a research paper on environmental sustainability under the supervision of Dr. Sultan Al-Muaither and Dr. Mohammed Farid Abbas.
The College of Engineering, represented by the Department of Civil Engineering, organized the First Sustainability Exhibition in Building Materials on February 3–4, 2025, with the participation of government institutions and private sector companies.
His Excellency, the University President, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamim, inaugurated the exhibition, toured the participants’ pavilions, and visited the pavilion showcasing the college students’ innovations. The exhibition featured scientific seminars and student competitions.

Students of the Department of Industrial Engineering competed in the 14th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM 2024) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, hosted by Khalifa University. They won the Best Scientific Project Poster Award and achieved third place in the competition.
