Under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Asimi Rector of PSAU, College of Engineering held a celebration on obtaining international academic accreditation from ABET. The ceremony was held at the college theater.
The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran. Then, Dr. Mohammad Al Kahtani Dean of Engineering College delivered a speech welcoming Rector and appreciating his constant support to college’s events. In addition, he welcomed Ph.D. Saleh Al Kahtani Director General of NCAAA, Vices-Rector, Deans and members of the advisory board of the college, along with faculty members and attendance.
Dr. Al Kahtani pointed out that the college is eager to compete not only on the local level but also on the regional level too. Whereas, the deanship depended on its plans on latest international standers, which are adopted locally. That was indicated by obtaining national and international academic accreditation at the same time. He denoted that the college eagerness comes out from the university and the college keenness regarding the education quality that meets the international quality standers. These standers include curriculums strength, faculty members’ efficiency and the variety of graduation requirements, besides the educational and research efforts, community service programs, information sources, graduates level and the scientific department equipment. Dr. Al Kahtani concluded his speech re thanking Rector and his Vices, and the faculty members, who assisted in this achievement. He urged them to keep giving their best and to apply these standers and practices on a daily basis at the college work.
Furthermore, a documentary was played about the college establishment and development. Then, Dr. Al Asimi delivered a speech congratulating the dean and faculty members for this big achievement. He pointed out to the importance of the academic accreditation and its application to academic life. Then, he thanked the Dr. Osama Thafer former Dean of the college and Dr. Saleh Al Kahtani former Vice-Rector of Development and Quality. He also thanked all the participants of this achievement. Rector expressed his trust in Dr. Mohammad Al Kahtani current dean of the college to keep college’s success going. At the end of his speech, Rector stated that this achievement would motivate other colleges to obtain the academic accreditation for its programs. Then, he received the academic accreditation certificate for the college dean.
At the end of the ceremony, the college was keen to honor the participants of this achievement from inside and outside the college. The honored persons by Rector were Dr. Saleh Al Kahtani for his efforts, faculty members, and members of the academic accreditation committee, members of the advisory board and the former faculty members who assisted in this achievement.
