Students design and assemble mechanical components using advanced design and manufacturing software. They use a simple finite element grid to design the stress and strain. Furthermore, they utilize the information they receive in the manufacturing course to design and manufacture the mechanical part using computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD). The strategy includes the manufacturing process sequence, tooling, clamping methods, references, and collision detection. G-code is then used to operate a CNC machine to manufacture the mechanical part.
