As part of linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, Civil Engineering students from the College of Engineering in Al-Kharj conducted a field visit to the Al-Hadithi Mall project, currently under construction in Al-Kharj, on Monday, October 13, 2025. The visit aimed to familiarize students with the various structural systems used in the project.

The project serves as an outstanding model for the implementation of Precast Construction Technology, as all its elements are composed of precast systems, including Hollow Core Precast Slabs, Precast Columns and Beams, and Cast-in-situ Foundations and Retaining Walls.

Engineers from Zawaya Real Estate Company, the firm responsible for the project — Eng. Abdulatif Balshi (Project Manager), Eng. Mohammed Al-Halafi, and Eng. Majed Al-Otaibi — provided a comprehensive explanation of the project details.

The field visit was supervised by Dr. Mohammed Al-Bahar, who emphasized the importance of such visits in enhancing students’ understanding of real-world engineering practices and connecting classroom knowledge with actual construction site applications.
