The College of Engineering in Al-Kharj at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University received an academic delegation from the National Research Nuclear University of Russia as part of efforts to enhance scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions.
The visit focused on exploring prospects for collaboration in the fields of digital infrastructure, its operating systems, and associated cybersecurity, with particular emphasis on advanced applications in power and energy systems. Both sides also discussed recent trends in the protection and operation of critical digital infrastructures, as well as the integration of digital solutions with reliability and security requirements.
The meeting included discussions on establishing a joint laboratory specialized in digital infrastructure and cybersecurity for power and energy systems, to serve as a platform for applied research, the development of smart solutions, capacity building in research, and support for graduate programs and joint projects.
This visit comes within the framework of the College of Engineering’s efforts to strengthen high-quality international partnerships and to align scientific research with the needs of vital sectors, contributing to the advancement of applied knowledge and the transfer of expertise in advanced technological fields.
